A lighting strike is being blamed for a house fire overnight in Beloit. Firefighters were called to the 400 block of Portland Avenue just after midnight Tuesday. Officials say half-a-dozen fire departments assisted with mutual aid. Damage was contained to the second and third floors of the single -family home. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
