The Janesville City council Monday night approved a TIF Developtment Agreement with GEA Mechanical, a new business to the Janesville area.
Jimsi Kuborn, the city’s Economic Development Director, says GEA has good plans for the land they are building on and that they don’t believe in just throwing up a building and a parking lot. According to Kuborn, prelimnary schematics show that GEA is hoping to create a nice place for the city of Janesville and the employees that work there.
Kuborn also says it is a big deal that GEA has chosen Janesville, as they are located in 62 different countries and employ over 18,000 people.
GEA will build an 85,000-square-foot repair facility, with construction expected to commence in fall 2022.
