A Beloit shooting suspect is sentenced to probation.
28-year-old Brock Chancy Jr of Beloit plead guilty to first-degree recklessly endangering safety Thursday morning in connection with a shooting in August of 2021.
According to the criminal complaint, Beloit Police responded to the area of White Avenue and Riverside Drive a little before 10:30 in the evening for a report of a man pointing a gun at a vehicle before firing and driving away.
Police say when they caught up with Chancy, he told them he had a gun, but thought the safety was on before it fired.
Rock County Judge Barbara McCrory withheld sentence and ordered Chancy to serve two years of probation.
