The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin hopes to make space to take in more homeless pets with a Bissell Foundation “Clear the Shelter” event.
Adoption Supervisor Alison Strieker says adoption fees for adults dogs and cats will be $50 through Monday.
Additional fees such as city of Janesville licensing, cat carrier, leash and collar are not included, and adopters are still required to complete a standard adoption application.
Bissell Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” program began in 2016 as an effort to encourage more families to adopt a pet into their home. More than 83,000 pets have found adoptive homes through this reduced-fee adoption event.
