A 57-year-old Janesville man accused of sexually assaulting a mentally ill patient at an assisted living facility in Milton appears in Rock County Court.
Douglas Hearn was in court Wednesday afternoon for his arraignment with his attorney entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of second degree sexual assault of a mentally ill victim.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim’s sister began to suspect the sexual assault incidents after seeing her act “out of the ordinary,” including appearing shaken up and trembling after a trip outside of the facility to a store with Hearn.
When the victim’s sister asked what was wrong, the victim began to cry and told her that “Douglas was a bad person” and shared about the alleged sexual acts he committed.
A swabbing sample of the victim’s clothing matched Hearn’s D-N-A.
