An accused Rock County burglary suspect says his co-defendant claimed they had permission to be inside the home.
25-year-old Archie Saros of Hayward and 48-year-old William Hoefle of Freeport, Illinois are charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, and theft. Saros is also charged with bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, the homeowner awoke to find Saros in the kitchen and Hoefle in the shower. Hoefle fled in the nude and was later arrested hiding in a culvert.
Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer bound Saros over for trial Tuesday morning. Saros stood mute to the charges and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
