Organization holding run/walk to help homeless youth

A local organization is hosting a run/walk at to help benefit homeless youth in Rock County.

Project 16:49 Executive Director Tammy DeGarmo says the 2nd Annual Race for a Place has added a 10k option for more serious runners, including professional timing, but that more casual runners and walkers are still more than welcome.

DeGarmo says Project 16:49 works will unaccompanied homeless youth in the community, making sure they have access to school supplies, transportation, and health care.

Registration is $35 a person for the 5k option and $50 for the 10k. Registration includes race t-shirt, running bib, and a finisher medal.

The race will take place August 21st at Riverside Park in Janesville. More information can be found at project1649.org.
