The Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center Design Committee met Tuesday afternoon to discuss updates on the project.
Public Works Director Mike Payne said that consultants gave them a projected cost of $59 million dollars, more than they had anticipated, so they’ll have some work to do to make the project a reality.
Payne said the designers will need to come up with a list of things to lower the cost of the project like components that could be eliminated or changes in the design type that could reduce cost.
Payne said they had been aiming for a budget of about $41 million based on a 2019 study. The committee will meet again on September 6th to discuss the project and provide updates.
