
The 31-year-old Sun Prairie man accused of causing the head-on crash that killed a local auto racing champion in February has his operating while intoxicated charge dismissed.
Justin Archer appeared before Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer Thursday morning where prosecutor Verity Altenberger asked the charge be dismissed without prejudice because the blood test revealed he had no drugs or alcohol in his system.
Archer plead no contest to unsafe land deviation and was ordered to pay a $175 fine.
Investigation determined that a vehicle driver by Archer was headed eastbound on Highway 14 in the town of Janesville when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle head on.
70-year-old Kevin Olson, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
