Judge denies request to reduce shooting suspect’s bond

A 22-year-old Beloit man accused in a non-fatal shooting at the Rockvale Mobile Home Park in May is denied a second reduction in cash bond.
Marcus Range is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide and nine counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety.
Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set cash bail for Range at $250,000 in June and Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer reduced it to $50,000 in July.
In Court Tuesday morning Judge Barbara McCrory denied a request to further reduce Range’s cash bond.
According to the criminal complaint, Range and two other men fired no less than 75 rounds at a man sitting in a vehicle on the 6200 block of South Highway 51. Multiple trailers were struck by gunfire.
