First Congregational Church in Beloit will remain a polling location for the upcoming election after the Beloit City Council voted against consolidating that location with Todd Elementary school.
Council member Clinton Anderson voiced his concerns, saying the consolidation may have confused young voters who could potentially already be intimidated by voting for the first time.
City Councilor Shelly Blakely said the short time frame between changing the polling place and election day could disenfranchise young voters and she wants to make it as easy as possible for them to vote.
