The Orfordville Fire Protection is looking to hire six full time staff in order to better serve the community.
Voters in the Village of Orfordville head to the polls on November 8th to decide if they want to increase the tax levy by an additional $166,000 in order to fund the change.
Orfordville Fire Protection District Chief Ryan Perkins says the current part time volunteer fire department is no longer cutting it.
Perkins says currently the ambulance is out of service at times simply because there is nobody to staff it.
Perkins says the cost to the owner of a $100,000 home would be about $218.
