Land the County already owns near the Rock County Jail is one possibility if the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds were to move.
Two Rock County Board Supervisors are introducing a resolution that creates an ad hoc committee to explore moving the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds.
District 14 Supervisor Mike Zoril says the current fairgrounds have a significant amount of deferred maintenance and the current location makes it difficult or impossible to take advantage of the top two revenue drivers of a county fair – beer sales and parking.
Zoril says the Blackhawk Curling Club – which uses the current fairgrounds rent free – has been the most vocal in their opposition during prior discussions on moving the fairgrounds.
The resolution is being co-sponsored by District 16 Supervisor Yuri Rashkin.
