Janesville has officially proclaimed October to be National Disability Employment Awareness Month after a unanimous vote at last week’s city council meeting.
Council Member Heather Miller said it’s important to share with the community that this is a group of people that not only live by the motto “I can”, but “I will.”
KANDU Industries Executive Director Kathy Hansen says 9.8% of the population in Rock County is under the age of 65 and disabled and the mission at KANDU is to provide opportunities to those with disabilities.
The 9.8% is the highest percentage of all neighboring counties to Rock County.
