Four star Army General Andrew Poppas made a return to his alma mater Janesville Craig Thursday afternoon, where he spoke in front of students and staff.
Poppas said a lot of the successes he has had in the military all started at Craig, and while he didn’t understand it at the time, he looks back at his time on the soccer team and forming bonds as keys to his career.
Poppas said the staff and teachers at Craig set a great example for him and helped push him and realize he had to potential to do more.
Poppas, a 1984 graduate of Janesville Craig, was recently named the 24th commander of United States Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg.
