The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is encouraging residents to “Check Out Wisconsin’s State Parks at Your Library.”

Local library card holders can now check out free vehicle passes to visit any state park, forest, or recreation area in Wisconsin.

Beloit Public Library Marketing and Communications Coordinator Amy Mitchell says a total of 50 passes are available through March 1st of next year.

A total of 20 libraries around the state are participating in the pilot program, including the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville, the Irvin Young Memorial Library in Whitewater, and the Edgerton Public Library.
