A Beloit teen facing gun and drug charges takes a last minute plea deal, avoiding a jury trial.
In Rock County Court on Monday, 18-year-old William C. Buchanan IV attempted to discharge his attorney Bradley Lochowicz, and reject a plea offer from the Prosecution.
After speaking to Lochowicz, Buchanan changed his mind and plead no contest to charges of resisting an officer and carrying a concealed weapon as part of a felony hold open agreement.
Additional charges of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 and possession of narcotics were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Karl Hanson ordered Buchanan’s sentence withheld and sentenced him to a total of five years of probation.
