Beloit’s finance director gives an outlook on the cities budget and beyond for 2023.
Eric Miller tells WCLO’s You Talk Show that they weren’t as concerned with gaps in the budget for 2023 as they had been in years past, largely in part due to the closer of one of their biggest TIF districts.
Miller said the closure allowed the city to have some growth in the levy in addition to what the state allows them to increase it by.
Miller said that both the county and the city will get a portion of the net revenue from a future casino project in the city, but what the actual final numbers will be are yet to be determined.
The Ho-Chunk Nation Casino and Resort project is expected to bring 1,300 jobs to the city.
