Beloit shooting suspect bound over for trial

A 39-year-old Beloit man who is charged with of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, and disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon pleads not guilty.

Beloit Police Officer Colin Hirsch testified during Christopher Baumann’s preliminary hearing that officers were called to the 1600 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 3:30 the morning of November 10th on the report of shots fired.

According to the criminal complaint, Baumann pointed the gun at a neighbor during an argument, and fired a round off into the air.

Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer bound Christopher Baumann over for trial Tuesday morning and denied a request to lower his $3000 cash bond.
