City of Beloit officials are letting residents know about the release of a convicted sex offender. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has informed the city 48-year-old Jonathan M. Schaefer will be living at 2219 Euclid Avenue. Schaefer was convicted in 1992 of second degree sexual assault and two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. He was later civilly committed under Wisconsin’s sexually violent person commitment law. Under his supervised release, Schaefer is required to comply with lifetime Sex Offender Registration and lifetime GPS.
