Janesville city council members continue to wrap their heads around the Woodman’s Sports and Convention project after getting updated Monday evening.
Councilor Michael Jackson says he’d only be willing to borrow as much as $17.5 million dollars, and its his responsibility to do what is best for the city and resident of Janesville so they don’t get hit with a big number when they pay their taxes.
Jackson says he wants the private sector to get more involved with the funding for the project, and private entities like the Janesville Jets need to pony up and come up with their best dollar to lessen the tax burden on the citizens of Janesville.
The city council will meet December 12th to further determine the potential borrowing amount for the project.
