With Wisconsin’s hunting season in full swing, this is the perfect time for hunters to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle a casualty.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports that each year an average of 20 hunters are wounded by gunshots.
MercyHealth Lead Tactical Instructor Mike Blaser says that’s why a free sportsman casualty care course that runs from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening is so important.
Blaser says participants need to be at least 10 years old, but those 16 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult. You can register by calling 8-8-8-39-MERCY.
