The first Beloit School District ad hoc referendum committee meeting was held last week, and the group found out who would be their chair and co-chair leaders.
Clinton Anderson was selected as the chair of the committee along with Mark Rand, and says he’s excited about the diverse group that will provide a recommendation to the school board about whether or not to go to referendum, and if they do how much they’ll ask for.
Anderson says schools across the state are having a hard time getting funding and you’re seeing several school district have to go to referendum.
Anderson says they’ll be on a pretty tight schedule and they hope to have a recommendation put together by the end of January.
