The Rock Internship Program hopes to match local businesses with high school seniors hoping to get their foot in the door in their desired area of work.
Rock County Economic Development Director James Otterstein says local employers can use the program to get their name out, familiarize themselves with parents and guardians, and keep local talent local by establishing a pipeline with students.
Otterstein says the goal will be to place students in areas of interest, for example if someone is interested in healthcare they will try to place them in a healthcare like setting.
Otterstein says the summer of 2023 program will be for those entering their senior year of high school and the six week program will pay them $13 an hour.
