Janesville School District considers closing TAGOS Leadership Academy

With just 31 students enrolled, the School District of Janesville’s first charter school is in jeopardy of closing.
Superintendent Mark Holzman says enrollment has been declining at TAGOS Leadership Academy for the last five years.
Holzman says the School Board is considering the non-renewal of the charter school’s contract which expires at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
The School Board is scheduled to make their decision on January 10th.
Holzman says the district will work with students at TAGOS to look for options for the students who are already taking at least one course at Parker High School or ARISE virtual academy.
