Downtown Janesville has hired a Janesville native as their first ever Managing Director.
Elaina Szyjewski enters the position with over 10 years of experience in the event and hospitality industry.
She was most recently the Director of College Events at Beloit College, where she held the position for the past six years.
Incoming Downtown Janesville Chair Joan Neeno said in a press release the hiring of Szyjewski marks a huge step forward for D-J-I and the continued development of downtown Janesville.
Neeno also said Szyjewski’s event and communication skills will be critical as they meet the growing demand from the community and businesses for events and spaces.
Szyjewski will start her role in mid-January.
