As the holiday shopping season swings into full gear, it’s important to remember to keep an eye out for bad deals.
State Department of Ag, Trade, and Consumer Protection Administrator Lara Sutherlin says that you need to be especially careful with clicking on random ads in your social media feeds.
Make sure you check out any website you’re linked to before you send over credit card info, and double check and shop around on supposed sale prices, which might not be a deal at all.
Sutherlin recommends doing online shopping incognito so your personal and financial information isn’t stored for hackers to access later.
