Wisconsin saw a record year when it comes to the outdoor recreation industry, and Janesville is following suit.
Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Christine Rebout says they saw great growth in outdoor recreation, and when they did their rebranding in 2018 they wanted to highlight all the great outdoor options Janesville has.
Rebout says people may have discovered a new passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities due to the pandemic, and they carried that passion into the next year and it caused a boom in the industry.
Wisconsin’s outdoor recreation industry contributed 8.7 billion dollars to the state’s GDP, which was 14.1% increase.
