A decent amount of snow accumulation means Janesville’s snow plows will be out helping clear streets and providing safe travel for residents.
Operations Director Maggie Darr says they’ll be maintaining main streets during the duration of the snowfall and then after the tail end of the snow they’ll start getting into residential streets, but they don’t expect that to start until Thursday afternoon.
Darr says light snow fall at the beginning of 2022 left enough money in the budget for the end of the year, which is good since it has been an expensive end to the year from an operations standpoint.
A winter weather emergency goes into effect in Janesville at noon Thursday and will run until 6:00am Friday.
