A 38-year-old Beloit man is sentenced to six years in federal prison for distributing crack cocaine.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, a confidential informant purchased crack cocaine from Marcus Payton on two occasions in January of 2022.
At the time, Payton was on federal supervised release for a 2014 conviction for distributing heroin.
On Wednesday, Payton was sentenced to an additional two years in prison for violating the terms of his supervised release, to be served concurrently to his six year drug sentence.
