Janesville celebrates centennial of council-manager government

The City of Janesville celebrates the centennial anniversary of its current form of government.
Communications Specialist Nick Faust says the citizens of Janesville chose the Council-Manager form through an election in April 1923, and later that year, the City Council selected Henry Traxler as Janesville’s first City Manager.
Faust says Janesville has the longest-running Council-Manager style government of any City in Wisconsin.
The City is encouraging the public to join in the celebration through activities like monthly City Manager Trivia at the first City Council meeting of every month.
Acting City Manager Dave Moore will share a new historical trivia question and citizens can submit their answers to be entered into the chance to win a prize.
