The Beloit School Board plans to have a $23 million non-recurring referendum question on the April 4th ballot. The question includes $14 million for this school year, and $9 million for the next. Uses intended for the money include sustaining current social and emotional behavioral programming and replenishing the district’s rainy day fund. The referendum is in addition to an almost $20 million dollar borrowing plan to update heating, cooling, school safety, roofing, and the Beloit Memorial athletic facility. Board members anticipate another referendum as early as April of 2025, even if this spring’s question is approved by voters.
