Janesville City Council candidates address issues facing the council

The five candidates for seats on the Janesville City Council met Wednesday night to discuss topics facing the city.
All five candidates spoke on what they felt was the biggest issue facing the city council.
Incumbent Dave Marshek said continuing to make Janesville an attractive place for people to live and businesses to set up was crucial.
Fellow incumbent Heather Miller said people are being taxed out of their homes and the city needs to bring in new businesses so the tax burden isn’t so great on citizens.
Incumbent Michael Jackson felt the biggest issue facing the city council was the selection of the city’s new manager.
Challenger Richard Neeno the city council needs to focus on continued development and making Janesville attractive, while fellow challenger Spencer Zimmer said the council needs to prepare for an uncertain future and prioritize what’s important.
The election is April 4th.
