Janesville City Council considers TIF deal for new multifamily housing development

A planned multifamily housing project in Janesville has another hurdle to clear before becoming a reality.
The proposed 219-unit development off of Myrtle Way may hinge on tax incremental financing from the City.
Economic Development Director Jimsi Kuborn says phase one of the project includes 99 apartment-style units.
Kuborn says phase two of the project will include 120 townhouse-style units, with two detached garage buildings.
On Monday night the Janesville City council will consider providing a total of $7 million in TIF funding for the $49.5 million development.
