A new chunk of land has become available in Beloit for potential housing, and the city hopes it can help address the need for homes.
Economic Development Director Drew Pennington says they are now taking proposals for developers to build single family homes on potentially up to 22 lots of land.
Pennington says a subdivision build out stalled during the great recession and sat in property tax foreclosure, but the city has paid off any special assessments or charges in the hopes to attract potential builders.
People have until April 10th to submit a proposal, and more information can be found on the city’s website.
