The Beloit City Council is taking the public’s input into consideration when it comes to how they want to spend ARPA funds on possible park projects.
Council President Regina Dunkin says a lot of members of the city council were on the same page with what the community members, and projects could include splash pads, park replacements, and improvements at Turtle Creek Park and the lagoon at Riverside Park.
Director of Parks and Recreation Matt Amundson says he isn’t recommending any ARPA funds be used for possible improvements to the Edwards Ice Arena, saying the project doesn’t align with the ARPA timeline.
The city has appropriated $2.55 million towards park improvement projects.
