The Highway 81 corridor in Beloit could see some potential changes, should the city ever take the recommendations of C-B-S Squared Engineering and The Stateline Area Transportation Study.
Beloit Metro Planning Coordinator TJ Nee says at this point all the the recommended improvements are for future planning purposes only and there are no proposed or pending projects on the corridor.
CBS Squared Traffic Engineer Lee Gibbs says one idea to reduce two through lanes in each direction to just one through lane could improve safety by eliminating high risk drivers weaving in and out of traffic.
Several recommendation’s were made including major modifications along Liberty Avenue, Fourth Street, and Highway 51.
