The Janesville Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for construction of the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center at their Monday night meeting.
Planning Director Duane Cherek says in the near term, there should be enough parking giving the amount of vacancy in the mall and there is room to grow should potential expansions come up.
Senior Planner Brian Schweigl says between Uptown Janesville and the WSCC there would be over 2,300 available parking stalls.
The WSCC is slated to come in front of the Janesville City Council for final approval at their September 11th meeting.
