A local hospital is hoping to help several local non-profits get some new ideas off the ground.
Each spring, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Janesville offers a mini grant program to help area nonprofits launch great ideas and programming.
Director of Community Health Megan Timm says this year’s grant recipients were the Milton Area Youth Center, Stateline Literacy Council, and the Stateline Boys and Girls Club.
Timm says the recent community health needs assessment identified access to things people need to go about their lives, and mental health issues as priorities.
The Milton Area Youth Center launching a cooking class, Stateline Literacy Council is developing a digital literacy course, and the Stateline Boys and Girls Club will create a Mental/Emotional Wellness Zone.
