The Janesville PD is scheduled for an on-site assessment Wednesday as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Lieutenant Mark Ratzlaff says the assessment issued by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group is a three year process, and since they were last assessed there have been new additions of standards and as laws change they need to make sure they are up to standard.
Ratzlaff says the public can get involved by contacting WILEAG Wednesday afternoon between the hours of 1 and 3pm to offer their input, whether positive or negative, on how the department is doing.
