As AAA prepares to rescue more than 483,000 drivers nationwide with car trouble this Memorial Day weekend, it will also provide a free service in an effort to keep impaired drivers off the road.
Director of Public Affairs Nick Jarmusz says they encourage people who are going to drink to plan ahead for a safe ride home.
For those who don’t, the national auto club group is offering free rides home for impaired drivers, and their vehicles this weekend.
Jarmusz says AAA has been providing the Tow to Go program for 25 years.
People can call 1-855-2-TOW-2-GO from 6:00 Friday evening until 6:00 Tuesday morning.
When called upon, AAA dispatches a tow truck to transport the driver and vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius for free.
