An invasive bug is invading Rock County homes.
Farmer’s Almanac Editor Peter Geiger says stink bugs emit an unpleasant skunky odor when you crush them.
Geiger says the brown bugs are native to China, and were first discovered in the United States in the late 1990’s.
Geiger says the easiest way to get rid of stink bugs is to vacuum them up. If you have a Shop-Vac or a little-used spare vacuum you keep in a garage, use it to prevent the smell from infiltrating your home.
Geiger says you can try to keep the bugs from invading to begin with by sealing up cracks and using crushed garlic on windowsills.
