The Welty Environmental Center in Beloit is welcoming back the Sky’s the Limit STEM camp this Summer.
UW Madison Center for Climatic Research Director Michael Notaro says the goal of the camp is to broaden science opportunities for autistic youth by supporting inquisitiveness in a non threatening and inclusive environment.
Notaro says studies show among the autistic community there’s a large interest in science but because of social and sensory challenges, very few actually end up pursuing college degrees and careers in science.
The class will run from 1 to 4pm every Friday between June 16th and July 21st, and people can register by visiting the Center for Climatic Research website.
