The Janesville City Council approved a proposal which would allow for heated sidewalks at properties at 109 and 111 East Milwaukee street.
Council President Paul Benson issued his support for the proposal, saying the city is protected from any risk and it’s a good step in changing Janesville’s perception as the “City of No”.
Council Member Paul Williams also supported the proposal and said if it is successful it could be something they update in city ordinances going forward.
The proposal was approved unanimously despite city staff recommendation against the heated sidewalks.
