An avid runner has run more than 10,000 miles in an effort to raise awareness and support for the fight against childhood cancer.
Rik Zortman says he uses GPS tracking to spell out the names of loved ones and children during his runs as part of the Armstrong Project, which he started in memory of his son Armstrong who passed away from brain cancer at the age of 3.
Zortman says when he started the effort back in 2017 he never thought he would get to a milestone like 10,000 miles, but he was able to cross that mark during a run (Wednesday) and Thursday from South Beloit to Beloit.
