Early this morning around 4:30am, Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies, Police Officers and Fire and EMS personnel from the City of Janesville responded to a motorcycle vs SUV crash that occurred on West Hwy 11 near West County Trunk WC.
The investigation revealed an SUV was eastbound driven by Keith Rose. A motorcycle driven by a 53-year-old Janesville man was westbound. The SUV crossed the centerline and collided with the motorcycle head-on in the westbound lane.
The operator of the motorcycle sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Lifesaving measures were attempted at the scene but were unsuccessful and the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A 47-year-old passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital. The name of the deceased has not been released.
Keith Rose was arrested on a charge of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle, OWI 2nd offense, WI cause injury, possession of drug paraphernalia and Probation Hold. Rose will appear in Rock County Court Friday afternoon.
