The Rock County Public Health Department’s office in Beloit, which has been closed to the public since March of 2020, could be closing for good.
Members of the Beloit City Council are expressing their concerns after the Rock County Public Health Department revealed plans to close its Beloit office at the end of the year.
Council President Regina Dunkin felt there could have been more public outreach.
Health Office Katrina Harwood says leaving the Eclipse Center when the lease is up will save the County about $23,000 in rent.
Harwood says the three people who currently work out of the office at the Eclipse Center would transition to the Health Department’s office in Janesville.
