The 24 year old Janesville man who is accused of assaulting a police officer Sunday night makes his initial appearance in Rock County Court.
Brandon Diaz appeared in front of Court Commissioner Jack Hoag, where the state argued for a $10,000 cash bond.
Hoag agreed with the cash bond, but instead set the amount at $50,000, saying Diaz’s actions demonstrate an escalation of violence to the point where he is unwilling to cooperate with law enforcement and is a danger to the public.
Diaz is facing eight charges, including four counts of felony bail jumping, resisting causing injury to police, substantial battery, escape and knowingly violating a restraining order.
