Six chaplains have been selected to be a part of the Beloit Police Department’s returning chaplaincy program.
Captain Christopher Eberhardt says chaplains are largely to bridge the gap between police and community members and are a great resource during a critical incident like an accident or death.
Eberhardt says turnout for the program was higher than expected, with more than 20 people applying for a position, so they unfortunately had to turn some people away but they had plenty of great candidates to select from.
The program is making its return after being put on hold in 2017.
