Beloit Police to host Speeches at the Splashpad

Beloit PD is trying to empower area youth to have their voices heard and showcase their talent with an upcoming event.
Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says “Speeches at the Splashpad” is for kids ages 10 to 17 and kids are encouraged to read a favorite poem, speech, or even just come and chat with local law enforcement.
Lock says the event is the brainchild of Chief Andre Sayles, who even going back to his days with the department before he was a chief was focused on growing trust and community relations with residents of Beloit.
“Speeches at the Splashpad” takes place Wednesday from 2 to 4pm at the Vernon Park splashpad.
